Program - Armenian Peace Officers Association
The Armenian Peace Officers Association has
established scholarship funds to provide college level education
and financial assistance to eligible students. The association
raises money for scholarship funds such as the Hagop (Jake)
Kuredjian Memorial Scholarship Award. This particular scholarship
is awarded by the association and made available to Armenian-American
students pursing careers preferably in the fields of law enforcement
or criminal justice.
Jake was
sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department in 1984.
Deputy Hagop (Jake) Kuredjian faithfully served the citizens
of Los Angeles County until his last call of service on August
31, 2001, when he was killed in the line of duty protecting
the citizens of Santa Clarita, California.
