Scholarship Program - Armenian Peace Officers Association

The Armenian Peace Officers Association has established scholarship funds to provide college level education and financial assistance to eligible students. The association raises money for scholarship funds such as the Hagop (Jake) Kuredjian Memorial Scholarship Award. This particular scholarship is awarded by the association and made available to Armenian-American students pursing careers preferably in the fields of law enforcement or criminal justice.

Jake was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1984.
Deputy Hagop (Jake) Kuredjian faithfully served the citizens of Los Angeles County until his last call of service on August 31, 2001, when he was killed in the line of duty protecting the citizens of Santa Clarita, California.

  • Amount of awards: $500.00
  • Minimum GPA required: 2.5

Applications accepted from:
College freshman through senior years.

For citizens or legal residents of the
United States


This Scholarship is based on and considers:

  • Academic achievement
  • Recommendation and/or reference
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Community service

For Students in any major or area of study (preferably Law Enforcement)
